The Human Resources Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Human Resources function of Jonathan's Landing Golf Club. The Human Resources Director will develop a collaborative partnership with senior management and provide HR value-added services, coaching, guidance and management advice. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for providing HR support and assistance to our employees, regarding the Club's HR policies and procedures and any HR-related issues or concerns.
Qualified candidates must have great relationship building skills, be comfortable developing and implementing policies and procedures, have the ability to be fully engaged and visible with our staff and management team and have considerable knowledge of State and Federal employment laws .
Qualified candidates must have a degree in Human Resources Management and a minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR leadership and management experience in Human Resources, preferably in country clubs, resorts or 5-star hotels.
Job Responsibilities:
Manages company-wide Human Resources programs, policies and projects.
Ensures compliance with applicable state, federal and local employment laws and maintains knowledge of current employment legislation.
Counsels supervisors and employees on HR policies, procedures and all employee relation issues.
Conducts annual Open Enrollment benefit meetings, collaborates with Benefit Broker in coordinating Health Fair and Wellness initiatives.
Assists employees with benefits questions, including claims resolution, enrollment questions, changes, and reviews termination of benefits with staff.
Coordinates recruiting efforts with management and oversees pre-employment hiring process.
Oversees Worker’s Compensation reporting, claims monitoring and assists employees as needed.
Follows up with Urgent Care facilities, employee return to work status, post-accident drug test results and ensures compliance with Worker's Compensation procedures.
Ensures compliance with Family Medical Leave and administers Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability and claims resolution.
Administers and coordinates annual employee performance evaluation program and provides salary recommendations to General Manager.
Prepares, maintains and updates employee handbook and company-wide job descriptions.
Provides day- to-day performance management guidance to management, coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions and assist supervisors with documentation.
Conducts exit interviews with terminated staff and conducts exit interviews with International Staff through H2B Visa Program.
Participates in Department Head and Director meetings and makes presentations.
Education and Experience:
College degree required in Human Resources management
SHRM certification and experience with hiring International staff through the H2B Visa Program is preferred
Position requires 5+ years of HR Generalist experience and progressive HR leadership.
Thorough knowledge of recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and all employment rules and regulations is required.
Solid organizational, problem solving, communication, and computer (Microsoft Excel, Word, ) skills are essential.
Must be self-motivated, energetic, and positive team player that takes personal pride in providing superior customer service.
Ability to develop strong relationships and establish trust and credibility with employees and our management team.
